Brian, a principal in KPMG’s Economic and Valuation Services (EVS) practice, is the leader of KPMG’s Southeast valuation practice with more than twenty years of valuation experience. Scott Deakin has been an international business leader, across both manufacturing and distribution sectors, for more than thirty years. His career includes more than a decade as a Chief Financial Officer for both privately held companies and SEC registrants. In C-level roles for more than 15 years, Mr. Deakin has had extensive corporate board of directors and committee exposure, complemented by board leadership roles with several high-profile non-profit organizations.
Mr. Deakin has distinguished himself as a CFO, President/Group Executive and strategic M&A executive with leading diversified companies including Eaton Corporation; Barnes Group Inc.; Ensign-Bickford Industries; and Lydall, Inc. As the CFO of Gypsum Management & Supply (NYSE: GMS), Mr. Deakin contributed to the realization of compound annual revenue growth of 10% in revenues and 24% in EBITDA, generating a sustained three-point improvement in EBITDA margin. Culminating a multi-year growth strategy, GMS was sold to The Home Depot in 2025 for $6 billion, realizing a 6x shareholder return over his tenure.
As a Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Deakin has consistently delivered transformational functional change, driving marked reductions in transactional cost and complexity while redeploying resources to value-add analytics and business partnership, all while improving the fidelity of controls and reporting. Leveraging strategic M&A as a principal growth driver and focus of capital deployment, Mr. Deakin has led numerous successful transactions and integrations, including the realization of SOX compliance. And as a leader in the capital markets, Mr. Deakin has led myriad refinancings, including a highly subscribed debut $350 million high yield bond offering, a $500 million term loan, and a nearly $1 billion ABL. Also having had responsibility for Information Technology, Mr. Deakin has championed successful ERP implementations and cyber security readiness initiatives. With a tight focus on margin enhancement and growth, market capitalization has more than doubled in each of his last two companies during his tenure as CFO.
Mr. Deakin has served as a multi-industry general manager, President, CEO and Group Executive for a wide variety of global companies (inclusive of $1B+ entities), notably with direct on-the-ground accountability for manufacturing, R&D and marketing operations in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Traditionally operating in hyper-competitive markets, Mr. Deakin has led numerous successful restructurings, built high-performing teams, and intently deployed enterprise-wide, lean-based business systems to realize above-market growth and margin enhancement. Mr. Deakin’s teams have frequently been recognized with operational excellence, EH&S, and growth accolades, including the prestigious Shingo Medallion and the General Motors Supplier of the Year Award.
As an M&A leader with completed transaction value of more than $15 billion, Mr. Deakin has been responsible for envisioning, executing and integrating transformational acquisitions and divestitures throughout his career. Notable transactions include a coordinated three-party asset swap, a semiconductor equipment business IPO, and leadership of Eaton’s acquisition of Aeroquip-Vickers, at the time the company’s largest transaction ever completed. In its execution of an industry roll-up strategy, GMS completed more than 30 transactions under Mr. Deakin’s leadership of the M&A program.
Mr. Deakin earned his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and an MBA in Finance and Operations from Carnegie Mellon University, with post-graduate executive education at Dartmouth College. He began his career in consulting managerial roles at both Price Waterhouse and Deloitte and Touche.
Mr. Deakin currently serves as an independent director for building and metal components manufacturer Central States, Inc. He has also been a member of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, a member of the Board of Advisors for Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, as well as a member of the Board of Examiners for the Eaton Quality Award. He has over 25 years of sales leadership experience in the Human Capital Management industry, such as at Alight Solutions (formerly Aon Hewitt and Hewitt Associates), a $2.3B leading provider of human capital solutions where he served as the Executive Vice President, Global Head of Sales, responsible for the overall sales growth strategy and execution. Under Keith’s executive leadership, his sales teams consistently produced double-digit annual growth. Prior to joining Hewitt Associates, Keith worked with Paychex, Inc., a Fortune 1000 payroll and HR outsourcing company, for 16 years. He was a Zone Sales Manager responsible for the growth and delivery of revenue in their Human Resource Service Division. Before Paychex, Keith spent three years in the insurance industry and five years serving his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Keith has a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. His dissertation research examined gender and ethnic diversity on corporate boards. He also holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in Business Administration from Charter Oak State College.

Independent Board Director
Skip Paterson serves as the Chairman of the Board for 1910 Legacy Enterprises and is an independent director with broad expertise in construction, energy, and manufacturing. He also serves on the boards of Cathedral Holdings, Inc. and Concrete Supply Company, Inc., both of which are employee-owned companies. Skip’s executive career includes leadership roles at organizations such as ITT Cannon, Alliant Energy, JD Edwards, and BellSouth/Cingular. Kevin Pearson is a member of the Board of Directors of McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. He first joined the McCarthy Holdings, Inc. Board of Directors in 2021 before joining the McCarthy Building Companies Board.
Mr. Pearson serves as General Manager for Land at Georgia Power. In this capacity, he has overall responsibility for and sets the strategic vision for land acquisition and disposition, surveying, mapping, and engineering of land, land research, and natural resource management in support of Georgia Power’s business operations. He also serves as a strategic advisor to Georgia Power on property rights, revenue growth, conservation, and brand enhancement.
Mr. Pearson began his career at Georgia Power in 2005 as a Senior Claims and Litigation Specialist in Risk Management and has held positions including Staff Attorney, Senior Staff Attorney, and Managing Attorney in Legal Services; Workplace Concerns Manager; Managing Attorney for Risk Management; and Director of Corporate Security. Previously, Craig was CEO of Global Corporate Services at Newmark (NASDAQ: NMRK) and President of Colliers International (NASDAQ: CIGI), U.S. Region, where he grew revenues and profits by an average of 20% and 40% respectively, year-over-year. At Colliers, he was responsible for $1B+ in annual revenue, 5,600 real estate professionals, and leading the successful acquisition and integration of eight real estate companies. He also played critical roles in the IPOs of both Colliers and Newmark.
Craig’s governance experience also includes serving on the advisory boards for several venture-backed tech companies and the operating board of Cassidy Turley, a full-service real estate firm that generated more than $22B in annual transaction volume with nearly 4,000 real estate professionals in North America. As a Cassidy Turley board director, he governed over the acquisition of 15 companies and the company’s ultimate exit to a private equity group.
